Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

As an international student on a student visa in Australia, you are required to have health insurance through the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) throughout your visa duration. OSHC covers medical and hospital expenses during your stay in Australia, with limited benefits for pharmaceuticals and ambulance services.

Before your visa can be issued, you must show evidence of your health insurance cover. Your health insurance must be valid from your arrival date to your departure date, regardless of when you start or complete your program. It is your responsibility to ensure your health insurance policy matches your travel dates.

Students from Belgium, Norway and Sweden who are covered by CSN or Kammarkollegiet are exempt from OSHC requirements. They must provide proof of official health insurance cover from their home government provider.

Policies & Procedures

Classes are similar to our on-campus delivery but have been customised to suit an online format. For detailed information about the subjects you will be studying, visit our course pages for Counselling and PsychotherapyArts Therapy or Early Childhood Education.

Department of Education

Yes! All our classes take place in real time via Zoom with a live lecturer. There are no delayed or pre-recorded sessions.

Department of Home Affairs (DHA)

You will need an iPad or computer to attend your classes and complete your weekly study tasks and assessments.

We use Canvas as our learning management system. It gives you access to your study materials including course outlines, slides, readings and other relevant study information. It also guides you on how to submit your assessments.

For Arts Therapy students, you will need to have your own art materials and a suitable space for creating art and performing movement exercises. Click here to view our Arts Therapy Materials List for Online Students.

Education Agents

Our online classes follow the same teaching structure as our on-campus delivery. Each academic year is divided into three study periods called trimesters, each comprising 11 weeks of teaching plus one exam week. A full-time study load includes 9 subjects per year (3 subjects per trimester). You should allocate 3 hours per subject for lectures and tutorials. Please remember that if you are an international student, you are required to undertake a full-time study load.

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)

Yes, apart from your live lectures, you should spend additional time each week on self-study to complete prescribed readings, practice skills, research, study, and allocate additional time for assessments. For Early Childhood Education students, we suggest 7 hours. For Counselling and Psychotherapy and Arts Therapy, we suggest 10 hours.
