Natalie Morton
Acting Head of School – School of Human Services
Natalie has worked as a social worker for over 30 years, specialising in individual, couple and family therapy. She has been fortunate to work across a diverse range of settings, including child, adolescent and family health, child protection, disability services and organisational development.
Natalie is passionate about bringing richly described stories to life through social work education, therapeutic practice, and visual forms of expression such as art and film. Her academic and professional interests centre on the integration of narrative practices within social work education and therapeutic practice.
Natalie’s research explores the experiences of parents following the permanent removal of their children through child protection processes, with a particular interest in the use of narrative approaches in both research methodology and analysis.
Daniel Thomas
Head of School – School of Education
Daniel Thomas is an experienced educational leader with more than 30 years’ experience across teaching, school leadership, learning and development, and organisational leadership. Having worked across Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary education and held Principal and executive leadership roles, Daniel brings a strong understanding of what enables educators, students and teams to thrive.
As Head of School Education at Ikon Institute of Australia, Daniel is passionate about strengthening the quality of learning and teaching, building a culture of collaboration and curiosity, and supporting educators to continually grow their practice.
Daniel believes great education is grounded in relationships, high expectations and a genuine sense of purpose. He is committed to creating an education environment where people feel valued, challenged and proud of the work they do.
