Scholarship Terms and Conditions
1. For 2027, scholarship recipients must enrol and commence a relevant course within the same academic year. The scholarship cannot be deferred to a future academic year.
2. Scholarship recipients must maintain their course enrolment to continue receiving the scholarship.
3. Subject fees are published on the Ikon Schedule of Fees. Please note that Ikon course fees are updated by the end of September each year for the upcoming calendar year.
5. The scholarship does not cover non-tuition costs such as textbooks, equipment or field trips.
6. The scholarship is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be taken as cash. Other than the additional scholarships listed in item 8, the scholarship cannot be used with other offers.
7. If a scholarship recipient receives more than one primary scholarship offer from Ikon, only the scholarship of greatest value will be awarded. The additional scholarships listed in item 8 may be combined with a primary scholarship.
8. Additional scholarships: eligible students may receive the following in addition to their primary scholarship, calculated as set out in item 9.
a. Regional Diversity Scholarship: 5% for students from the eligible regions listed on the Ikon Scholarships page.
b. Package Scholarship: 10% off the Ikon course fee for students enrolled in an eligible packaged course. Not available to students who have received the 20% Early Childhood Education ALG scholarship.
c. ELICOS Credit: $275 per week (up to a maximum of 10 weeks) of ELICOS study, applied as a credit against the Ikon course fee. Only available when ELICOS and an Ikon course are taken as a package.
d. Onshore Access Scholarship: up to 15% for international students who have commenced a course in Australia with another provider and transfer to an Ikon course before completing their principal course with their current provider.
9. How scholarships are calculated: the primary scholarship is applied to the full tuition fee first. Each additional scholarship under item 8 is then calculated separately on the net tuition fee, meaning the fee after the primary (and additional where this is the case) scholarship has been deducted. Fixed-dollar credits, such as the ELICOS Credit, are deducted after all percentage-based scholarships.
Example: a course with a tuition fee of $30,000 and a 20% primary scholarship has a net tuition fee of $24,000. A student who also receives the 5% Regional Diversity Scholarship would pay $22,800 and if they were also entitles to the 10% Package Scholarship, would pay $20,520. Each additional scholarship is calculated on a net fee basis.
10. Alumni Scholarship: a 20% scholarship is available to domestic and international students who have completed an Ikon course, and to graduates of ALG institutions who go on to study at Ikon. To be eligible, students must:
a. have had a break of at least 6 months since completing their previous course (exceptions may be approved at Ikon’s discretion); and
b. enrol in a non-cognate course (a different field of study from their previous course), or progress from an undergraduate course to a postgraduate course.
The Alumni Scholarship is a primary scholarship and cannot be combined with another primary scholarship.
11. Domestic Access Scholarship: this scholarship is only applicable to new commencing domestic students and cannot be applied at a later stage of the course.
12. International scholarships: all international scholarships are only applicable to international students. Should a student change their visa or citizenship status at a later stage, the scholarship will no longer apply.
13. Scholarship recipients must pay the balance of their subject fees in accordance with Ikon’s standard payment terms. Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in the forfeit of the scholarship.
14. Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress. Full fees apply for repeated subjects – no reduction fee. Full fees will be charged at the rate applicable at the time of subject re-enrolment.
15. Withdrawing from the course or suspending study leads to the scholarship being automatically forfeited.
16. Scholarship recipients withdrawing from a subject after the census date (domestic students) or after commencement date (international students) are liable for that subject’s fee.
17. Scholarship recipients unable to meet the scholarship conditions due to illness, injury or other extenuating circumstances may apply for special consideration. Where there are grounds for special consideration, Ikon may grant leave for one trimester. The scholarship will be reinstated on the agreed return to study date. Failure to resume study on the agreed date may forfeit the scholarship.
18. Unless terminated earlier in accordance with these terms and conditions, the scholarship will end upon completion of the course.
19. Ikon may vary or terminate the scholarship if a scholarship recipient breaches scholarship or enrolment conditions. This includes poor academic performance, poor attendance, misconduct, withdrawal or cancellation of enrolment, breaches to the student code of conduct, providing false or misleading information during the admission process that results in the scholarship being awarded, failure to pay subject fees by the relevant deadline, or accepting another Ikon-administered primary scholarship. The recipient may be required to repay any scholarship benefits that they were not entitled to within 14 days of the termination notice.
20. Eligible recipients must sign the Scholarship Acceptance Declaration to accept the scholarship, and, in doing so, agree to abide by the 2027 Scholarship terms and conditions.
19. The scholarship commences only after a completed Scholarship Acceptance Declaration is received by Ikon. A declaration is considered complete when all conditions have been accepted and signed.
22. Ikon reserves the right to make changes to the scholarship and/or these terms and conditions without prior notice. All decisions made by Ikon regarding the scholarship are final and not subject to appeal.
